JAKARTA (IndoTelko)— Real estate and investment management firm JLL Indonesia has played a pivotal role in facilitating a major land acquisition for DAMAC Digital, marking one of the largest AI-focused data center investments in Indonesia to date.
JLL successfully brokered the purchase of a 50,000-square-meter site in Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java, where DAMAC Digital plans to build a high-density AI data center with a projected capacity of over 144 megawatts (MW). The total investment value for the project reaches US$2.3 billion.
“This transaction highlights Indonesia’s growing importance in the digital infrastructure landscape,” said Farazia Basarah, Country Head and Head of Industrial and Logistics at JLL Indonesia. “As AI computing demands continue to rise across Southeast Asia, Jakarta is positioning itself as a strategic hub for next-generation data centers.”
JLL’s involvement included identifying and securing a site that met DAMAC’s technical and strategic requirements. The firm leveraged its market intelligence, local network, and integrated service approach to align the development with Indonesia’s digital transformation goals.
The project marks DAMAC’s latest expansion in Southeast Asia, adding to its presence in Thailand and Malaysia. The first phase of the Indonesia facility is expected to be completed by Q3 2026. DAMAC targets a total operational capacity exceeding 300MW across the region by the same year.
JLL’s role in the transaction underscores its leadership in Indonesia’s fast-evolving digital infrastructure sector, where the demand for AI-ready data centers is rapidly accelerating.
